From the hut, we go back along the moraine up to the glacier of Gran Paradiso (3,100 m). Some steep slopes alternating with gentle stretches will lead us to the “Schiena dell’asino” (3,700 m), where we find the trail that climbs from the Chabod hut. We move forward towards the col of Montcorve (3,800 m) and after a steep stretch, the slope decreases up to the last rocks. We remove the skis and follow an easy ridge for about 80 metres until we reach the top of Gran Paradiso (4,061 m), where there is a statue of the Virgin Mary.
Back to the skis we go down along the Laveciau glacier, which is cut by many crevasses, to reach the Chabod hut (2,750 m).
