Do you want to improve your climbing skills and learn new techniques? With the SAFETY ACADEMY CLIMBING BASIC program you can spend a day rock climbing together with us, by learning the basics that will allow you to be autonomous while cliff climbing. This course will make the transition from indoor to rock climbing a child’s play!
In this course besides teaching you the safety techniques to be autonomous in rock climbing, we will also give you targeted advices to have fun and improve your confidence and learn useful safety notions when climbing.
The course will focus on: knowledge of the equipment, how to belay correctly and progression techniques. The knowledge of the notions related to safety and the correct use of the rope will help you in learning the rock climbing techniques, providing you the necessary know-how to have fun!

 

Topics addressed in the course:
1. Climbing basic techniques
– management of your body in the space
– correct use of the feet
– progression typologies 

2. Safety chain
– belaying maneuvers
– technical gear
– use of the rope
– belaying methods, fall factor, leading/top rope

3. Environment
– rock types, meteorology, nailing

The multitude and variety of climbing walls availables allows us to match the setting to the technical topics treated in the course.
The day will take place in a chosen location between Aosta Valley/Piedmont/Liguria.
We do offer different cliffs in different regions, the choice of the location will depend on the period and the chosen date.

  • the assistance of a UIAGM/IFMGA certified Mountain Guide
  • liability insurance
  • safety gear used by the Guide (eg rope)

The rate does not include
  • research and rescue insurance with UVGAM coverage (recommended): €5 per person for 3 days
  • transfers
  • anything that is not mentioned under "The rate includes"

  • It is crucial that participants follow all instructions provided by the mountain guides before and during the activities, and that they accept any changes made to the programme in order to guarantee their safety.
