At the border between Switzerland and Italy, the Grand Saint Bernard Valley is the ski-touring best place in the Aosta Valley.

A paradise for the ski-touring passionates, Grand Saint Bernard Valley offers many possibilities, with routes for every level of skier. For example, we can go to the Serena pass, the Grand Saint Bernard pass, Mount Fourchon, Costa Serena, Costa Corleans, Mount Flassin, and there are even more options!

During the trip, we’ll get in touch with the the warm welcome of this Valley, also staying overnight in the famous Grand Saint Bernard Hospice.

This ski-touring trip is very special and so interesting because of the follow reasons:

Meeting point: Saint Rhemy en Bosses (AO) for equipment check and short briefing with the Guide

Quick transfer by car to the parking area and ski departure at the foot of the famous Great Saint Bernard Pass. Through open slopes on panoramic valleys, exciting traverses and woods of rare beauty. We will move along the snowy slopes until we reach the Hospice du Grand Saint Bernard, known for the proverbial hospitality of the structure. A place of meditation renowned and known throughout the world, present in the iconography of places for the past 1,000 years.

Ascent/descent time: 4-6 hours

After an easy descent we will begin the climb towards the Mont Fourchon 2902 m, which we will reach with some little prominence. From the summit, the view takes your breath away and fills your heart: we will take a brief stop for some shots and a sip of hot tea. For the descent, depending on the technical level, we will alternate slightly steep stretches, with easy and fun curves to some more challenging descents. The overnight stay will be in a typical valdotaine hotel, where you can relax in a warm and familiar atmosphere, enjoying local delicacies.

Among breathtaking curves in powder snow, we will reach the town of Saint Rhemy en Bosses. Here we will once again enjoy local delicacies. Enjoy fun, discovery and adventure in this magnificent valley with us! Thanks to the exceptional geography of the place, in the Great Saint Bernard Valley it is possible to personalize the climbs of each single day. Thanks to the advice of the Guide you will be able to decide goals to reach, length of journeys, number of peaks. Together with us you will be able to chain personal peak itineraries, creating ring-shaped tours tailored for you!

  • research and rescue insurance with UVGAM coverage (recommended): €5 per person for 3 days
