PROGRAM
Important mountain in the Mont Blanc massif, on the border that divides France from Italy. The north side of the Aiguille de Toula overlooks the Gigante glacier while the southern side overlooks the Toula glacier. The summit is located between the Aiguille d’Entrèves (3,604m) in the south-west and the Grand Flambeau (3,566m) in the east. Thanks to its proximity to Punta Helbronner, reachable with the Skyway cable car, the Aiguille de Toula is a very popular peak. The normal route develops along a climbing path on broken rocks. The approach to the start of the route is covered on a glacier: for this reason, it is essential to move carefully. In addition to the normal route, suitable for a first introduction to alpine climbing, the Aiguille de Toula offers more demanding routes, especially on the steep north-western side.
The Toula glacier is a destination of great interest for expert skiers during the winter season.
The simplest approach to the Aiguille de Toula is from Punta Helbronner (3,462 m), reachable by cable car from Entréves village (Courmayeur).
