PROGRAM
The Brenva descent unfolds in a fascinating and unique context, with the majestic east face of Mont Blanc as a backdrop to a skiing experience beyond comparison.
GROUP DEPARTURES
Meeting point: Skyway cable car parking area in Entrèves (Courmayeur), for equipment check and a short briefing with the Guide
At the upper station of the cable car, from Pointe Helbronner through the Col Flambeaux we will descend down to the base of north face of the Aiguille de Toule. We’ll then skin up towards the Tour Ronde’s normal ascent route, which we’ll tackle skis-on-shoulder, with crampons and ice axe, almost to the summit. A short break and… we’re off! We’ll start by skiing down the steep initial slope (300 m drop at 40°-45°) until the glacier below.
Ripping our way down riveting slopes and around menacing crevasses, we’ll come to the point where a few possibilities open up, and we’ll choose the most suitable based on the conditions of the snow. This is an unforgettable descent through a rugged environment, extremely remote and fascinating, under the imposing watch of the Aiguille Blanche and the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey.
Note: If you have already skied the standard itinerary, there are some interesting variants, such as the one from Colle del Papa or other one from the descent that passes Col Moore.
